Uniform Patrol
Captain Randy Holden who supervises 25 employees leads the Uniform Patrol Division. A lieutenant leads each rotation and a Sergeant and a Corporal lead each shift.
The Uniform Patrol Division operates out of the WFPSO Substation located at 8562 U.S. Highway 61.
Four 12-hour shifts rotate days and nights. Each deputy is issued a marked vehicle, tactical shotgun, Beretta .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, Class A uniforms, bulletproof vests, and a duty belt.
All full-time deputies receive training at the Louisiana State University's Law Enforcement Academy and are certified by the State of Louisiana.
All deputies are encouraged to continue their education after basic training. WFPSO deputies handle a variety of calls from loose livestock to homicides.
WFPSO deputies also enforce traffic laws throughout the parish, from the Mississippi State Line in the north to the East Feliciana Parish line in the south and from the Mississippi River on the west to Jackson, Louisiana on the east.
The objective of the Uniform Patrol Division is to assist the public in a positive, professional, and helpful manner.
The Reserve, or Part-Time, Deputies serve as a support unit to assist Uniform Patrol when there is a need for more manpower. The Reserved Division consists of eleven deputies who are interested in law enforcement and in serving their community.
Reserve deputies receive training from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Reserve Training Academy. This academy will give reserved deputies the knowledge to patrol on their own. Reserve deputies, other than working regular shifts, also control parking and security at high school football and basketball games.
Sgt. James Bailey leads the Reserve Division.
