The Criminal Investigation Division consists of four investigators assigned to follow-up all crimes within West Feliciana Parish. They are responsible for investigating homicides, burglaries, robberies, thefts, forgery, rape, etc. Investigators are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All of the individuals in the investigative division are veteran law enforcement officers with several years of experience behind them.
They are constantly up grading their skills with classes’ courses and seminars to improve their abilities.
WFPSO Investigators are responsible for criminal investigations at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Investigations include homicide, rape, battery on a correctional officer, etc.

Investigators work closely with the Evidence Custodian, David Ellis. The Evidence Custodian keeps up with evidence, maintains the chain of custody, and transports evidence to and from the State Police Crime Laboratory. The addition of this position makes evidence used in court cases more reliable and allows deputies more time to patrol.
