The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office is actively involved in helping to prevent crimes. The Office is involved in Neighborhood Watch, Crime Solvers and its own "Electronic Watch." Each program is designed to assist residents of the area prevent crime.
School Resource Programs: The School Resource Officer Program is part of a cooperative effort between education, law enforcement and the community. The program promotes positive and effective communication between youth, teachers an law enforcement. TRIAD Program: TRIAD provides an opportunity for the exchange of information between law enforcement and senior citizens. It focuses on reducing unwarranted fear of crime and improving the quality of life for seniors. TRIAD is governed by a senior advisory council. E-Watch Local: The E-Watch creates an early warning system to alert community residents to potential law enforcement problems in our immediate area. Through the use of the e-mail, the WFP Sheriff's Office will contact its constituents with information on; *suspicious activities in their community, *criminals, with an attachment of composite or actual photographs of suspects, * the possibility of serial crimes, such as breaking and entering, check scams, and the like, * vandalism activities, * drug activities, * missing persons, * and many other items of news. Neighborhood Watch: A crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of citizens, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce residential crime. |
